Quick Review: Techno Kitten Adventure (XBLA/iOS)

Techno Kitten Adventures will surprise your senses.

I heard about this game from the folks over at Super Happy Funtime Show podcast. Available through the Xbox Live Indie Games community, and also the App Store, Techno Kitten Adventure is a veritable epileptic fit of good fun.

You take on the role of the titular kitten, guiding it through a maze of stars via its handy jetpack. Controls are simple, limited to pressing a button (or the screen) to elevate him, and then releasing to let him fall. The game is relatively basic in principle, and reminiscent of that classic flash helicopter game (link), though it has been given a significant curve of difficulty through the implementation of an ear-splitting happy hardcore techno soundtrack, alongside a smorgasbord of visual distractions, all of which are geared to make you fail and send techno kitty to an early grave.

And fail you will, at least for the first couple of times. After a short time, you may find that the lyrics to 'Hungry for your love' have become your brain screensaver, but don't worry too much about that. The game is free from the App Store, and a mere 240 banana bucks on the 360, if the free trial can lure you in.
